So, here we go with TONS, and TONS of pictures and fun!
Day 1 - Friday, July 23, 2010
We started out our day bright and early shortly after the gates opened. There were so many people right inside the gate that we skipped the first classic Disneyland pictures, and went for the classic castle & Mickey Mouse statue picture.

The first ride we went on was the Matterhorn. We convinced both of the kids to go on the ride. The line went fast, and so did the ride...a little too fast for Gabby. The kids were a bit skeptical of any of the rides for a little while about what they were really getting in for. Paul, Marla, and the girls went on the Tea Cups (which I passed on because all the spinning was sure to make me sick), and they had tons of fun on it!

Then we were off to find Mickey Mouse before things got too busy at his house. We went to Mickey's house and visited him, walked through his house, and drove his car. Then, while we were waiting to visit Minnie at her house Pluto came over so Kaylee and Gabby went and visited him too.

After we visited with Pluto we made our way to Minnie's house. After saying hello we walked through her house. We tested out her furniture, and tried to have a tea party in the kitchen.

We made our way through the rest of Mickey's Toon Town and then it was off to the It's a Small World ride (which turned out to be Gabby's favorite ride at Disneyland). Then we went to find some princesses, ride Autopia (which turned out to be another of the kids favorites), and then over to the Mark Twain's Riverboat Ride.

We went back over by the castle and went on a few rides. We found the sword in the stone. Gabby tried, and tried to pull it out. She was trying with all her strength. She got Kaylee to come help her and they were both pulling, and pulling with everything they had...next step...get Marla to help. Marla came to help, and Kaylee and Gabby were still pulling with all their might...I don't think Marla was really trying, but she made some funny faces.

The kids were hot, and tired, and ready for a break. We went and bought Kaylee, and Gabby hats with their names embroidered on them, and then went and found a spot to sit for the parade. Kaylee wanted pink Mickey ears, and Gabby wanted a visor to keep the sun out of her eyes. She was also concerned about keeping the sun out of Paul's eyes.

The parade was a celebration dance party. So, it wasn't the type of parade that just passes by. It goes up the street to a certain spot, and then they stop and perform, and then move on. Since it's Disneyland's 55th anniversary they were celebrating different reasons people came to Disneyland. They asked who was there for the first time and Gabby raised her hand and was selected to come out into the parade celebration and dance with them. In the picture she's holding hands with Chip (the chipmunk).

For dinner we headed to Downtown Disney to see what we could find that looked good. As we looked for a place to eat we walked through a few stores. At the Lego Store they had Woody (from Toy Story) made out of Legos. It was pretty awesome. We decided on the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. It was a fun environment, and the food was okay (well, my food wasn't very good, but the other food was).

We headed back to Sleeping Beauty Castle for the fireworks show and it was already super packed. We found a place to watch the show, and enjoyed the show. As soon as the show was over Gabby fell asleep on my shoulder. It was a fun filled, busy day.
