My new house blog

I set up a blog about my house to try to help it sell a little faster. My mom came to my house with me on Thursday to help me finish cleaning a few areas and take pictures from around the house.

If anyone knows of anyone who may be looking for a house in Utah County I would really love it if you would pass along my house info. My new house blog is www.spanishforkhouse.blogspot.com. If there anyone has any suggestions or tips please feel free to either leave a comment on this post or email me at spanishforkhouse@gmail.com.

Weekly Review - July 19-25

Sunday, July 19 - After family dinner at my parent's house Marla read the girls some stories.

Monday, July 20 - Wendy, Marla, Roman, Kaylee, Gabby, and I went to Lagoon. The kids loved it! We stayed for 8 hours and they would have been happy to stay hours more.

Tuesday, July 21 - The girls had summer program at school. This week is pirate week. They made treasure boxes to go on a treasure hunt. Gabby made a telescope.

Wednesday, July 22 - The girls thought it would be fun to have a picnic in this Ikea Ladybug tent at my parent's house. By the end of lunch they each had their own tent set up and were talking about being neighbors.

Thursday, July 23 - While the girls were gone to summer program at school my mom came to my house with me to get some stuff deep cleaned and take pictures of different areas of my house. I set up a house blog to hopefully help my house sell - www.spanishforkhouse.blogspot.com (if you know anyone looking for a house in Utah County please pass along this info)

Friday, July 24 - Happy Pioneer Day - In Utah the 24th of July celebrates when the pioneers came to the Salt Lake valley. It's a big state holiday with parades and fireworks and BBQs.

Saturday, July 25 - We went to the Farmer's Market downtown. My parents met us down there. This has become one of our favorite Saturday things. The girls always look for the balloon guy, and I'm always looking for some fabulous new produce. Every week when we go the girls ask for an icee. This week Marla bought them each one. Kaylee wanted to mix all the flavors and then really didn't like it so she ended up eating Marla's.

Lagoon!!! It's what FUN is!

Yesterday Wendy, Marla, and I took Kaylee, Gabby, and Roman to Lagoon (a local amusement park). Our cousin Darren is the landscape architect there and was able to get us some really good employee discount tickets. The park opened at 11:00 but since we got stuck in really horrible construction traffic we got there at about 11:20 and didn't leave until 7:30. The kids would have loved to stay longer but they all have 8:00 bedtimes and needed to get home to bed.

We started our day over in the kids rides area. Roman wanted to ride the helicopters first. We decided to let the kids take turns picking which ride they wanted to go on and it worked out really well that way.

After about an hour or so in the kids area they started saying that they were hot and wanted to play in water. So, we went over near the entrance of the park ehere they have a fountain to run through and play in (it's really similar to the fountain at Gateway Plaza). They loved it and played in the fountain for probably about 45 minutes and were BEYOND soaked when they came out of the fountain.

After convincing the kids to get out of the fountain we headed over to the Pioneer Village to eat lunch and go on water rides in there since the kids were already wet. Roman was super tired since it was way past nap time. Wendy got him to fall asleep while Marla and I took Kaylee and Gabby on Rattlesnake Rapids. Then Wendy and Marla took them on the Log Flume. Roman woke up right as they were coming down the log flume.

We had to go back to the main gate to get our hands re-stamped because all of our stamps were washing off. Kaylee really wanted cotton candy so we took a snack break, went on the terroride (haunted house), and then went over to the bumper cars. Kaylee really liked the bumper cars because she undertood how they worked. Roman and Gabby got stuck along the edge and got really frustrated.

Since Roman and Gabby were really frustrated with the bumper cars we went over to the speedway Jr. where they wouldn't have such problems driving. They enjoyed a nice relaxing drive through the flowers.

We let the kids go on a few more rides, then we went on the log flume one more time with Roman awake...then it was time for a much needed dippin dots ice cream break.

You would think after 8 hours of playing at an amusement park the kids would be so tired that they would fall asleep as soon as they got in the car. We drove the hour and 15 minutes home and the kids played all the way home. When we got home they asked if they could play outside with the neighbor kids. It was 8:45!!!! They ALWAYS go to bed at 8:00. I can't believe they were ready to play more. I was ready to fall asleep before I walked in the door. It was a very fun day and the kids enjoyed every moment of fun.

Weekly Review - July 12-18

Sunday, July 12 - My whole family went up Millcreek Canyon for a Sunday Picnic. My Grandpa had a cabin up millcreek for years and we love that canyon. It has been a while since all of us have been up there and it was so nice up in the mountains.

Monday, July 13 - I didn't get any pictures...but here's what we did. We went to Wendy's house to write out our grocery lists and figure out what coupons we needed to find. Then Wendy came down to my house and we sorted through coupons and went to Albertson's to get some groceries...Wendy ended up spending $60 and saving $135; I ended up spending $80 and saving $140.

Tuesday, July 14 - Another fun day of summer school for the girls. This week is Enchanted Kingdom week. Kaylee's class made sparkle wands, crowns, and capes and did several princess activities. Gabby's class went to kitchen and made princess pillow tarts, and a bunch of other fun things in other workshops.

Wednesday, July 15 - My dad got us some tickets to go and see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. My parents babysat my kids and put them to bed. It was so fun having a night out enjoying a movie with my sisters...Oops...no picture again.

Thursday, July 16 - Another fun day at Summer school. This time Gabby's class made wands and capes and such, and Kaylee's class went to kitchen time. I babysat Roman while Wendy went and got her hair cut and colored.

Friday, July 17 - We went to a family reunion for my Mom's family. This is the family that I have always been closest to growing up and I don't get to see them nearly enough.

Saturday, July 18 - First thing in the morning we went to the Draper Days parade with Wendy and Roman. In the afternoon Marla (my youngest sister) hosted a slip n' slide water party in my parents backyard for all 6 of her nieces and nephews. Here's Kaylee, Gabby, and Savannah, using the slip n' slide as a drinking fountain instead of a slide.

This post is for Wendy (and anyone else that really likes homemade chinese food)

Because of Wendy posting this on her blog a couple weeks ago I decided I needed to post this as a reply to her blog post. Marla and I had some YUMMY sesame chicken and strawberry chicken last night that we made. It was so delicious. I also am including some pictures to make your mouth water (but it's probably best not to drool on your computer).

If you haven't tried Strawberry chicken it was scrumptious and you should give it a try, and the sesame chicken was absolutely mouthwatering good.

Family Reunion

This afternoon we went up to a family reunion for my mom's family. I wish we got together with this family a lot more like we used to. It's always so fun to get together with them. When we got there the kids (some big kids...aka adults) were playing with water guns. My kids found some water guns and joined in the fun. Gabby thought it was fun to shoot a tree with water.
Next we ate a catered dinner of ribs, chicken, potatoes, salad, fruit, and double fudge brownies and ice cream.
As we were finishing up dinner my uncle offered Chris $0.50 to stick his head in the bucket of ice water that the drinks had been in. He declined so my uncle offered him $0.55, he declined that too. So, my uncle had everyone chanting for Chris to dunk his head in the bucket. Eventually Chris gave in and dunked his head.

After Chris dunked his head everyone started chanting for my Uncle Dennis to dunk his head since he had started it on Chris. I didn't get a picture of him dunking his head...but he gave in too. Roman thought it looked like a REALLY fun game so he wanted to dunk his head too.
Dunking heads turned into the fun event at the reunion and a bunch of people were doing it after that. They convinced my Uncle Don, and my Uncle Dale to dunk their heads...and most of the kids dunked their heads. I'm sure it helped with the 100 degree weather outside.
We had so much fun see family, playing with cousins, and catching up with family we don't see enough.
