So Cupcake Birthday Party

On Saturday Kaylee had her "friends" birthday party. She wanted to have her birthday party at The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bake Shop but since they do birthday parties we found another cute cupcake shop - So Cupcake to have her party.

We started out her party by decorating aprons to wear to keep the kids clothes clean. The kids got to draw whatever they wanted on the apron with markers.

The kids got a tour of the cupcake shop. They got to see where the cupcakes are made, what they use to mix the batter, and cook them, where they store the ingredients and such, and more.

After the tour it was time for the kids to be cupcake decorators. They each got a frosting bag with pink or green frosting in it. There were bowls of different kinds of sprinkles. Each of the kids got 2 mini cupcakes to decorate (and eat of course).

Kaylee got her own special cupcake that was decorated with her name on it so we could sing "Happy Birthday" to her.

We got all the kids assembled together in their fun new sparkly sunglasses for a group picture. Kaylee has some amazing friends and it was fun having some of them get together to celebrate Kaylee turning 7.

While we finishing up the party the kids sat on the floor and did some activity sheets.

Weekly Review December 27, 2009 -January 2, 2010

This is my last weekly review of 2009...wrapping up the year. I think I will keep going with a picture a day because it has been really fun seeing what we do everyday, even when I think we haven't done anything important. So, unless I am hearing complaints from people there will continue to be more weekly reviews for 2010 (even if I don't have a picture for every single day).

Sunday, December 27 - Every time someone in my family gets married my parents have a special family night where they invite the fiance over to hear all the stories about who they are marrying as they were growing up. Since Chris was getting married this week we had family night on Sunday night. Even Melissa's family came and told some exciting, and interesting stories about here (I especially loved the rest stop story ;)

Monday, December 28 - The movers came to pack up all our stuff to get it shipped off to Hawaii. Since most of my stuff was already packed in boxes from moving into Wendy's basement when my house sold the movers had to unpack my boxes and pack them into their boxes. The kids had fun playing in the empty boxes.

Tuesday, December 29 - Day 2 of the movers being here repacking boxes, and getting things packed in crates to ship off to Hawaii. They piled the boxes high in the dining room as they were getting them ready to pack in the crates. Just when they were ALMOST done they left for the day...just to come back the next day for 45 minutes to finish up. I have several (okay hundreds if not thousands) of complaints about the movers...but, not much I can do about it.

Wednesday, December 30 - While the movers came back for a whopping 45 minutes to finish up their packing Kaylee went with Wendy and Roman to McDonald's to eat lunch and play while Wendy visited with some friends. Gabby wanted to stay home with Paul and me.

Thursday, December 31 - Today Paul and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary. I am so luck to be married to the hottest, most wonderful man ever. It was also my brother Chris' wedding to Melissa. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, and it was followed by a lovely (delicious) lunch, and a late reception.

Friday, January 1 - Happy 2010!! After the wedding reception the night before several people made their way over to Wendy & Spencer's house. We ended up with a total of 15 people sleeping here. W had fun laughing, playing, throwing ball pit balls at each other, and setting off fireworks at 12:00 with everyone else on this street that were also setting of fireworks. Then, the next day we hung out in our PJ's and Tiffany (my cousin) started a house cleaning event, and Steve played Legos with the kids.

Saturday, January 2 - Roman was eating Ritz Crackers and was turning them sideways to wedge them into his mouth. It was funny and we were laughing, so he kept doing it.

Congrats Chris & Melissa

On New Years Eve my brother married a lovely young lady. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on my 8 year wedding anniversary (because they think I'm really cool and wanted to get married on my anniversary.)

We started our day at the Salt Lake Temple to attend the wedding/sealing.

My parent's hosted an amazing catered luncheon at the church. We had chicken cordon bleu, rice, veggies, cream puffs, and mini eclairs. Yum! I forgot my camera at my parent's house so I didn't get any pics at the luncheon...but, my mom came to the rescue and sent me some pictures.

The reception didn't start until 8:00 (my kids bedtime is at 7:30) so we didn't last very long at the reception. Melissa's mom made the wedding cake, and refreshments, and decor. We had a hard time deciding exactly whatthe theme was...but it was something along the lines of Fairy Tales, renaisance, ball...maybe? Marla got the wonderful opportunity of being one of the bridesmaids and was so happy to show off her bridesmaid dress for the camera.
