Weekly Review - May 24-30

I did really horribly taking pictures this week. I was distracted cleaning the house, reading, and staying up way to late. So, here's what we have for this week:

Sunday, May 24 - We went to church, helped Marla set up her newly remodeled bedroom, and played at Grandma and Papa's house.

Monday, May 25 - Happy Memorial Day! We had a BBQ at my parent's house. All the kids had fun playing outside with Marla.

Tuesday, May 26 - This week the kids had Crazy week at school. Here's Kaylee's crazy hair day. I didn't want to do anything too crazy because she had not wanted to do it at all the year before...after I finished our mildly crazy hairdo she told me that she really did want to go all out this year...oh well.

Wednesday, May 27 - Kaylee playing Leapster TV video games (while I did laundry, and dishes, and cleaned, and Gabby was playing Disney games on the computer)

Thursday, May 28 - It was Gabby's last day of Preschool (until next year), and Kaylee's last day of Kindergarten was Friday. This is Kaylee and Gabby with Miss Kathy the director of their school.

Friday, May 29 - To celebrate getting through another school year Wendy, Marla, and I took the kids to see the new Disney/Pixar movie "Up". It was an excellent movie!!

Saturday, May 30 - We went to Smith's (Grocery Store) to find a watermelon for our Sunday family dinner. Kaylee and Gabby were checking out the different watermelons to see if they were good.

Love Story (Taylor Swift) meets Viva La Vida (Coldplay) - by John Schmidt

I love the song Love Story by Taylor Swift, I also enjoy playing John Schmidt's piano music. I really love this arrangement by John Schmidt.

Weekly Review - May 17-23

Sunday - May 17 - We ate Sunday dinner at Wendy's new house. My Grandma Oveson came over for dinner as well. Gabby LOVES playing on my grandma's walker.

Monday - May 18 - Gabby was determined to find some amazing snack in the fridge.

Tuesday - May 19 - I love spring weather. The girls had fun playing and eating snacks outside.

Wednesday - May 20 - Roman pulled his elbow out of socket and Wendy was having a very stressful day. We went to her house to help her. While Roman and Wendy took a nap I took the kids over to the mall and let them play in the play area.

Thursday - May 21 - We went to Savannah's Preschool Graduation/End-of-Year program.

Friday - May 22 - We went to the Gateway Olympic Fountain with Nicola and Wendy.

Saturday - May 23 - We went to Chuck-E-Cheese with my sisters and my neices and nephews.

Chuck-E-Cheese fun with cousins

Yesterday Janeene (and her family), Wendy (and her family), Marla, my kids, and I went to Chuck-E-Cheese. It was fun going with my sisters and their kids. They had fun playing games, and riding the rides. It was very helpful having enough adults there to follow all of the kids around. The only problem we had there was when Savannah got lost in the play tunnel and was freaking out when she couldn't find her way out. Jaren and Kaylee went and rescued her and got her out of the play area. After we were done at Chuck-E-Cheese we went over to Wendy's (the restaurant) for dinner.

Gateway Fountain

One of our favorite places to play in water is at the Gateway Plaza Olympic Fountain. On Friday afternoon Wendy and I met Nicola and her kids at the fountain and let them run and play. They added a cool new misting feature in the fountain (okay, maybe it's not new, but I don't remember it). The kids had a blast running and playing in the water. I think we will end up at this fountain several more times over the summer.

Nicola was great at letting wet kids sit on her lap. I offered for Gabby to come back over to me but she was perfectly happy sitting with Nic.

Kaylee and Maren were looking down the cracks at where the water goes after it shoots out of the fountain.

Every time that the fountain would start "misting" all the kids would run to get in the mist.

The kids had fun following each other around in the fountain. Mostly Kaylee was the leader.

Savannah's End-of-Year program

On Thursday was my niece Savannah's preschool program/graduation. After I picked the girls up from school we headed up to Salt Lake to go to her program. We got there a little late but we only missed a couple of songs.

Janeene did a spotlight on Savannah. She talked about what Savannah has learned this year and stuff.

Since we got there late we stood in the back. There were a couple of chairs that Kaylee and Gabby sat on.

After performing all of their songs they had a dvd slideshow. The kids went and sat in the front so they could see it better.

We got Savannah a bouquet of flowers for graduation and Kaylee and Roman both had to carry them up to her.

Here is Savannah with her preschool teacher.

Sunday, May 10 - Happy Mother's Day! We went to my parent's house and celebrated Mother's Day. It was a beautiful day, and kids enjoyed playing outside.

Monday, May 11 - We Dog-sat for Wendy and Spencer while they went camping in Moab for Spencer's birthday. Gabby and Brodie were hanging out on the living room sofa.

Tuesday, May 12 - Kaylee graduated from Kindergarten. She has grown up so amazingly fast. Here she is with her wonderful teacher Miss Cheri.

Wednesday, May 13 - We went to Wendy's house to scrapbook and play. Roman found some "purses" and was wearing one on each arm.

Thursday, May 14 - Gabby graduated from her preschool class. She has grown up so much this year and learned a ton!! Here she is with the amazing Miss Rebecca.

Friday, May 15 - Gabby told us that she loves limes and that they are her favorite. Here's what she really thinks of them.

Satuday, May 16 - Saying goodbye to Bella. She went to live in Idaho with a wonderful family because it would be hard for us to take her to Hawaii with us. (See the whole story in the next blog post)

My Dog-Gone Day!!

On Friday after I picked Kaylee up from school we headed up to Wendy's house to play and have a girl's night in...then I was planning on going to my parent's house on Saturday to help Marla put vinyl decals on her walls. My weekend started out pretty normal as I had planned...What I wasn't expecting was a phone call from my friend. She called to see if we still had Bella (our dog) and if we still wanted to find a good home for her before we moved to Hawaii. Wow!!! This totally threw me for a loop because they were headed up to Idaho to visit her bro-in-law and their family. Her brother-in-law decided that they really wanted a dog and they thought my dog was adorable. After a few hours of a HUGE battle going on in my brain, and talking to Paul about it I told my friend that it was okay if they took her because I knew that she would have a good home and be loved. Then if I did want to find out about her I would know who to talk to and could find out how she is doing. My allergies have been horrible lately, and I have been concerned about what we would do when we moved to Hawaii. After a TON of mental debate I decided it was best for my puppy to go live in Idaho with my friend's brother's family.

I talked to my kids and told them where Bella would be going and they seemed perfectly okay with it. I am afraid of what I may have to deal with in a few days when she has been gone for a few days. My friend told me that the family thinks she is wonderful and she is very well loved and they are enjoying taking her on walks, and playing with her. They are also sending me pictures so I can show the girls how happy Bella is with them and that she will have a wonderful family there. I also told them that we can get a dog again someday but it's really hard to take a dog to Hawaii because it's so far away and dogs don't like airplanes and long trips. They seem perfectly okay with it for now...I hope it stays okay.

So, My friend picked her up before heading up to Idaho Saturday morning and Bella was a wonderful surprise for some little girls up there that will love her as much as my little girls loved her. We will miss our puppy a lot. I am happy that we found her wonderful family.

Here are some pictures of the girls saying goodbye to Bella:
