Christmas Tree

On Friday (The day after Thanksgiving), we got out our tree, had our furniture rearranged, and set up our tree. The girls had so much fun setting up the tree, and putting decorations on. I am having a hard time finding all of my Christmas decor this year with all of our moves, and the movers packing things in random boxes but I did manage to find Christmas tree decorations. Here are a few pictures of our tree in progress. Even Falkor (our dog) is enjoying the Christmas tree)

Flashback Friday

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. I am really trying to fix that, and you should see a lot more of me on here this month. Here's a delayed Flashback Friday from last Thanksgiving. Last year we were in Hawaii for Thanksgiving and we were invited to the Rico's house for Thanksgiving. After dinner they were so nice in letting Kaylee and Gabby help set up their Christmas tree. They had so much fun helping.

The day after Thanksgiving we were back in Utah and Kaylee and Gabby helped Grandma set up her Christmas tree.

Flashback Friday

Today's Flashback Friday is from my sister Wendy's wedding reception. They just celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary. A lot has happened in the last 10 years. We have all learned, and changed, and added quite a few members to our family. From left to right from the back row: Grandma Mildred Oveson, Janeene, Spencer, Wendy, Chris, Becky (Me); Front row: Brenda, Jim (my Dad), Marilyn (my Mom), Marla.

Disney on Ice

In the middle of October I WON Disney on Ice tickets from a blog that I enjoy reading. We took the girls to Disney on Ice on November 13th for the "Disney on Ice Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey" show. Kaylee and Gabby decided to wear their fairy costumes to the show. The show was Mickey and Minnie's journey through 4 Disney movies. The movies that they highlighted in the ice skating show were: Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and Peter Pan.

Raking Leaves

On November 12 my sister's kids didn't have school so she brought them over to my house for the day for me to babysit. After playing inside for a while, and getting a few things done they decided to bundle up and go out to the backyard to play. While they were out there they got into the shed and found the leaf rake, and a shovel and just started working away at raking up all the leaves in the yard. Before too long they came and asked me if they could have some leaf bags to put all the leaves in that they had raked up. They filled about 5 big bags with leaves before coming in for a hot cocoa snack. Kaylee, Gabby, Jaren, and Savannah were amazing helpers out in the yard. They worked hard, and were great at working together to fill the bags.

Flashback Friday

On November 14, 2008 (almost exactly 2 years before the Disney on Ice show this year) I took Kaylee, Gabby, and their friend to Disney on Ice. I can't believe how little they look now in this picture. They have changed so much in the last two years, but they still LOVE Disney on Ice.

Flashback Friday

Today's flashback picture is from May of 2009. We were at my sister Wendy's house for dinner and Gabby told us that Limes are her absolute favorite kind of fruit. Her favorite kind of yogurt is Key Lime Pie so I guess she just figured she would love limes just as much. She had a MUCH different reaction to limes than she expected that she would, and has declared that she in fact DOES NOT love limes, but she still likes the yogurt.

Murray Park

On November 3 Wendy and I decided to take advantage of one of the last really nice days before it got cold outside and we took the kids to Murray Park for a picnic, to play, and go on a quick walk. After lunch, and playing on the playground we took a walk over to the big Indian next to the entrance of the park. It was a nice walk through the trees, and along the creek. Roman was carrying around some small branches that had fallen off a few trees and he was saying they were his umbrellas, and Gabby was walking along gathering up the autumn leaves.
