Easily Ammused!

I am always amazed at easily ammused kids can be. You can get them an amazing toy and they are more interested in the box...etc. Yesterday the girls were bored after church. They played in the play room for a while and then played the computer for a little bit. Paul and I have an agreement that I make dinner on weekdays and he does on the weekend. So, Paul went to make dinner and offered for the girls to help him make dough for rolls but at that point they were busy on the computer. Then he offered again when the dough had risen and it was time to make the rolls. They were bored of the computer by then so they both agreed to help. After they were done putting rolls on the pan Paul gave each of them some dough to form however they wanted...you would think they got the COOLEST new toy ever. They played with, rolled flat, tossed, and formed the dough for at least an hour and a half, and they were completely ammused the whole time. The only reason they stopped was because we had to eat dinner. It's funny the things kids find ammusing.

Lately I have been trying to do pilates everyday and Kaylee loves pilates. This morning I was talking to my mom about needing to go do pilates before I lost my motivation and Kaylee heard me from the other room and piped in: "I want to do pilates too!" She was still in her pajamas and needed to get her "Workout cothes" on before she could excersize. Her favorite pilates video is when she gets to do leg lifts and scissor kicks and stuff like that. I didn't mind because that is actually the easiest of the pilates videos I have. So, she got her workout clothes and we started doing pilates. She was even courteous enough to do some pilates for the camera. When I was almost done with my pilates she said "Whew! I thirsty...Mom, are you thirsty too? I'll get you a drink." It was so nice to have a cup of water waiting for me when I was done.

What happens when Wendy visits?

Today Wendy came over to scrapbook and save my sanity. I had to take Kaylee to school and Gabby wanted to stay home with Wendy and Roman. Roman was supposed to be sleeping but he only took about a 45 minute nap. When he woke up instead of getting Roman out of the Pack n' play Gabby got in with him to play. Wendy called to find out where a camera was and they were still in there when I got home. We didn't egt much scrapbooking done but it was really nice to have some company and some sanity...and at least the play room got cleaned up and stayed mostly clean today.

When I went to pick Kaylee up from school Gabby did not want me to leave her behind...and she was in desperate need of a nap. She was asleep before we were half-way to Kaylee's school. On our way home we got stuck in horrible traffic because of an accident on I-15 and as a firetruck went past us with it's siren blaring Gabby woke up. Since traffice was completely stopped I opted to take Provo Center street and avoid I-15. I think we made it home faster that way, or at least I would like to think we did. It usually takes me about 15-20 minutes to get home from Kaylee's school but today it took about 45!!!

My life would be pretty boring without my kids!

My life would be pretty boring without entertainment like this. I got out my camera to take some pictures and Gabby said "I want my picture too!" When I went to take the picture this is the pose that she struck...not once, but twice! It was so funny.

What a day!!! Pictures & Grandma's 80th Birthday

Today we took the girls to Target to get their pictures taken in their Easter Dresses along with Roman, Savannah, and Jaren. I think we may have been insane trying to get them all together in a picture but we got some cute and funny pictures. I really didn't like the photographer...she seemed more interested in getting us in and out more than anything. At least the kids cooperated and we got some cute pictures...I would credit that more to the cute kids than the photographer though. Anyway, we went to Wendy's house and she did the girl's hair before pictures. First, here are some cute pics of Gabby with Curlers in her hair.

These next pictures are after we got back from getting pictures taken with the kids in their Easter outfits still. Kaylee's hair was still kind of wet when we took the curlers out of her hair for pictures so her curls had completely fallen by the time we got back. Gabby's hair stayed curly pretty well until the rain and snow got to it later. I think it's funny that Roman is just interested in watching what Gabby is doing.

Tonight was my grandma's 80th birthday party and Kaylee was so excited to jump up and say surprise when my grandma walked in but by the time it was time to say surprise she decided to pretend to be shy. My sister took a few pictures there so here are a few of the pictures she got.

Another use for pull-ups?

I was downstairs talking on the phone to my sister when Gabby came to the top of the stairs with "Floaties" on her arms so she could go swimming??? The only problem was that her floaties were pull-ups. Wendy said I had to hurry and take a picture and post it on my blog so here it is. I really don't recommend using pull-ups as floaties even if Gabby seems to think it's a good idea. My kids are so ready for the weather to be nice and it seems like they might be getting a little too anxious.

A new chair!

Wednesday while Kaylee was at school I needed to run a few errands. I was done with my errands and there was still lots of time before Kaylee was out of school so Gabby and I wandered into Down East Home Outlet store. They are remodeling their store so they had some item REALLY marked down just because it got dust on it from the construction. Up near the register was a kids size sectional sofa piece. It was regularly $100 and on clearance for $20 so I decided to go ahead and grab it for the kids play room. They love it...and don't really want to share. But, they have learned when they don't shar no one gets it and the sectional goes into time out. This morning they finally learned their lesson and really wanted to share, and they were REALLY good at sharing. So, I figured I would snap a few pictures for everyone to enjoy.

Going to the Zoo!

I was so excited when I got an email from Nicola this morning inviting us to go to the zoo with her sometime maybe next week or tomorrow. It just so happened that the sometime ended up being TODAY! I haven't seen Nicola and her kids in months and we were all thrilled to go hang out at the zoo, and even better...Wendy and Roman came too. It was such a nice day today and we were all thrilled to be outside enjoying the day.

Kaylee and Noelle were our map readers...Their goal was to get us to the Penguins.

Gabby was running around in circles under this straw umbrella by the black bear.

Our amazing map readers did manage to get us to the penguin exhibit!

This is my favorite picture. We went into the small animal building and Kaylee thought it stunk.

We had so much fun at the zoo! They got to see all the animals and play on the playground.
