Waikiki Beach

After Paul got off work yesterday we went and played at Waikiki Beach. I had found the kids a sand set to build a sandcastle but we mostly just played in the water. It rained on us a little bit, but we figured we were getting wet in the water anyway. The girls were covered in sand when we were done playing. We will definately be going back to the beach this week.

Welcome Home!!!

Yesterday we got to go on a boat ride out into the harbor to watch the submarine. It was so fun being able to see different sights from the boat, and see the submarine.

Of course when you come to Hawaii you get welcomed with a lei...this is no exception for a submarine. When the sub pulled into Pearl Harbor the coast guard boat took a big lei out to put on the submarine to welcome it home.

We also saw some amazing historic sights fom the boat. We could see the Arizona Memorial, and the watch tower that was hit during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Then the moment that we have ALL been waiting for...Paul is home!!!! Yay! **Jumping for Joy!**

Waikiki Aquarium

For our first (full) day in Hawaii we decided to go to the Waikiki Aquarium. First the kids wanted to explore a little bit around our hotel and check things out. We also went exploring around the island a little bit and found the NEX (Navy Mall), and Commissary (Navy Grocery Store). After we did a little shopping we headed to Waikiki Beach to find the Aquarium.

The Waikiki Aquarium is a small aquarium full of fish and aquatic life that you would find in and around Hawaii. First we saw the Monk Seal:

Then we headed inside to look at all the amazing tropical fish.

Then we went back outside where there was a hermit crab you could hold, and some different aquatic things you could touch.

Weekly Review - November 1-7

Sorry, I'm posting this so late...We have been kinda busy.

Sunday, November 1 - For dinner we made Scones. The kids like to make their scones with cookie cutters so they can have fun shapes to eat for dinner.

Monday, November 2 - We had quite the adventure trying to take kids to school. The freeway had been shutdown because of a really bad traffic accident and was backed up for miles. After being stuck on the freeway for forever (okay about 45 minutes, we went 2 miles in 45 minutes) we finally took an exit and tried to take regular roads to the school. Unfortunately they were just as bad, or worse than the freeway. After being stuck going absoluetly nowhere for another 45 minutes we turned around and went home. We went to lunch at a really SUPER yummy japanese restaurant - Yamasaki *YUM*!

Tuesday, November 3 - I put the kids to bed and was folding some laundry in our family room. Kaylee said something down the hall so I went to find out what she needed and found that Gabby wasn't in her bed, or her bedroom, or the bathroom. I went looking for her and found her curled up on my bed asleep.

Wednesday, November 4 - The kids were playing and it was almost bedtime. I told them it was time to clean things up and get ready for bed. After the area was cleaned up I went to send kids to bed and Kaylee had drawn this picture on the dry-erase board. It is a picture of a house, with the girl's bunk bed. The stick figure standing up is supposed to be me and I'm saying "To the bed mom said", and then the other picture is the girls in their bunk bed and it says "Fine."

Thursday, November 5 - While Kaylee was at school Gabby and Roman were playing with a "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs umbrella". While I went to get Kaylee, Gabby went with Wendy and Roman to the Aquarium.

Friday, November 6 - After school we went to Target to find a few things. We contained all 3 kids in the cart.

Saturday, November 7 - We went to Customer Appreciation Day at the Snowbird Ski Resort. We got to ride a tram up to the top of the mountain and enjoy the view, and snow.

Weekly Review - October 25-31

Wow!!! What a fun, eventful week!

Sunday, October 25 - We had family dinner at my parent's house. After dinner Kaylee and Savannah were comparing to see who was taller (Kaylee is 2 year older that Savannah, but Savannah is really tall). Kaylee is still just barely taller than Savannah.

Monday, October 26 - For family home evening we decided to rake the leaves into piles and jump in them. I thought it would be even more fun to put a pile at the bottom of the slide.

Tuesday, October 27 - It snowed! Gabby was watching the snow falling out the patio door.

Wednesday, October 28 - Sorry, no pictures. Wendy did a few peoples hair today and I was kinda keeping an eye on Roman, and chatting with her while she did hair. Totally forgot to get out my camera all day.

Thursday, October 29 - I needed to go into Best Buy to find a couple things. We ended up on the camera aisle and Kaylee thought it was so funny to watch herself on the video camera.

Friday, October 30 - Kaylee and Gabby - Halloween programs at school singing Halloween songs, Halloween parties at school (I helped in both of their parties with a pumpkin bowling game), and a Halloween party with friends after school..What a day!!!

Saturday, October 31 - We went trick-or-treating at my grandma's assisted living apartment building, at the mall, and around the neighborhood...which resulted in A LOT of candy.
