Christmas at Grandma & Papa's House

My mom just emailed me the pictures that she took at her house on Christmas. The grandkids got a floor piano to play on when they visit (I am so glad that toy is staying at grandma's house), and they each got a blanket with a stuffed animal that wraps around them. My mom got a good picture of the girls sitting on the couch watching TV with their blankets and animals.

Christmas

Merry Christmas!!! For Christmas our girls were THRILLED to see that they got a bunk bed. We put both the girls in the same room and turned Gabby's room into a play room. Kaylee was excited to touch the ceiling by standing on her bed. Gabby was just excited about the whole idea of being able to sleep in a bunk bed.

We turned Gabby's room into a play room, scrapbook room and got the girls a play kitchen. They are quite the little chefs with chef hats and making some rather interesting combinations. Thank goodness their combinations are only pretend.
After exploring their bunk bed and new kitchen there was even more presents waiting downstairs under the tree. The girls had tons of fun tearing open all the gifts, the wrapping paper was EVERYWHERE! They ended up with 17 new books, lots of clothes, and a few more toys. The rest of the day the girls were upstairs playing on the bunk beds and with the kitchen.

That night we were surprised how fast they fell asleep sharing a room and having the bunk bed but they were exhausted and we didn't here a single sound after they went to bed.

Happy Birthday Kaylee! - Christmas Eve

Christmas eve was also Kaylee's 5th birthday. We invited my family over to our house for a party, Christmas eve dinner and our Christmas eve family stuff. We started out playing a balloon popping game, and pin the tail on the donkey. After they were done with that my sister, Brenda, gave us a gingerbread house for the kids to decorate. The kids had lots of fun putting candy all over the gingerbread house. It also came with 4 little gingerbread men, which was perfect for the 4 kids.

The kids decorated their gingerbread men while we assembled the house for them to decorate.

Marla wanted a gingerbread man to but since there weren't enough she decided to decorate a gingerbread tree instead.

Kaylee had rainbow chip cupcakes with little barbie candy cake decorations on the top of each one.

After the party we had a yummy dinner with ham, potatoes, stuffing, and all the other yummy stuff you could cram into a huge family dinner. By the time dinner was over we were trying to hurry to get all the Christmas eve stuff done so people could get back home after the snow storm. Kaylee and Gabby got to go sleep over and Grandma and Papa's house so we could put together Christmas gifts.

Family Christmas Party

Today was the Family Christmas party. It's fun to get together and watch the kids play and just catch up on life. The girls had tons of fun and were so exhausted by the end of the day. Gabby even went to bed early.

After lunch all the kids (including Paul and David) played Duck, duck, goose. It was cute watching them play, and watching the really little kids try to figure out what they were supposed to do.

Since there are so many birthdays in December we sang happy birthday to Kaylee, Alex, Sam, and David.

Kaylee was sad because she didn't get to blow out any of the candles. They were all blown out by the time she realized it was time to blow them out. Jessica lit 5 candles just for Kaylee to blow out.

Every year there is a pinata for the kids to break open. They always start youngest to oldest. Gabby was seriously ready to take this guy out. She even had him down to the ground. Kaylee thought it was fun too. She took a few pretty good swings at him.

Christmas Celebration at Preschool

On Wednesday Kaylee's preschool had their Christmas Celebration. The kid's got to see Santa and Kaylee wrote him a Christmas list so he wouldn't forget what she wanted. The kids that attend school there sang carols every 30 minutes that they have been learning at school (Kaylee keeps calling them Curls.) They got to make snowman soup in the art room (Snowman drawstring bags with hot chocolate ingredients). There were lots and lots of refreshments (chocolate covered strawberries, eclairs, brownies, cream pies and lots more...yum) in the Kitchen. The girls had tons and tons of fun.

As we left the party each of the parents received a gift. Kaylee's age group each made a CD with a Christmas interview on it. I am attempting to attach it but I've never attached anything like that before so hopefully it will work. (Nicola...Noelle is mentioned a couple times in Kaylee's interview)

It didn't work. I'll have to play with it a little bit more when I have some more time.

Another Tagged moment

Janeene and Wendy both tagged me on this one and I haven't gotten around to doing it. I guess I better do it so I don't feel bad tagging people on other things.

MY HUSBAND

What is his name? Paul

How long have you been together? We have been married for 6 years but we started dating 8-1/2 years ago and dated off and on for a while

How long did you date? This is kind of a wierd ? for me...We dated for 3 months, got engaged and were engaged for about 3 months, we broke up for about a year, got back together, and got married.

How old is he? 27

Who eats more? He does usually

Who said "I love you" first? I think he did, but I don't remember

Who is taller? He is by about 3"

Who sings better? I do. He doesn't like to sing much. I am not a very good singer but I enjoy singing to the girls.

Who is smarter? We are both smart, but in totally different areas.

Whose temper is worse? He definately has a worse temper. He isn't very patient but he really, really tries.

Who does the laundry? I do

Who does the dishes? I do, I HATE doing dishes but he works so much now that he doesn't have time. When he's home he's good about helping with the dishes though.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do (it's closest to the door)

Who pays the bills? I do.

Who mows the lawn? He does

Who cooks dinner? I do.

Who drives when you are together? We take turns

Who is more stubborn? We are both pretty stubborn.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Hmmm...that's a tough one.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first.

Who asked who out? He asked me out.

Who proposed? He did.

Who is more sensitive? It depends on the moment.

Who has more friends? I'm not sure. Probably me.

Who wears the pants in the family? I would like to think that I do

Now it's my turn to tag some people...Nicola and Maria. You have been tagged!

I was tagged!

Nicola tagged me so I figured...the kids are playing upstairs I have a minute I can do this.

What was I doing 10 years ago?. I was still in high school 10 years ago. I was a Junior. I worked at Bagley ice. Nothing to exciting.

What was I doing 5 years ago?. I was so miserable 5 years ago. I was 9 months pregnant with Kaylee and every time I went to the doctor they told me that I was so close and could have her any day now. Then they told me that they wouldn't induce labor until she was 2 weeks past due. She was born 2 weeks AFTER her due date.

What was I doing 1 year ago?. I was getting ready for Christmas, taking Kaylee to Preschool, The kids were playing with the Marshalls. Those are the highlights. Other than that it's still the same everyday routine: Cleaning, dishes, laundry, meals, etc.

What was I doing yesterday? Yesterday was a pretty crazy day. We started out by waking up the kids to take Paul to work, went to the post office (in a forever long line), went to Macey's, then we had to go home and find Paul's ID that he lost, I hurried and fed the kid's lunch and it was out the door again to take Kaylee to school. My mom met me at Kaylee's school and we went to lunch (I forgot to eat when I got the kid's lunch), we went to Provo Craft, and then to drop off our car at Paul's office in Provo (so he would have a way to get home), we ran a few more errands and then it was back to Kaylee's school to pick her up. Kaylee's school had their Christmas Celebration last night so we went and the kid's got to visit Santa, make snowman soup, the kid's that go to that school sang carols every 30 minutes, and they had some wonderful refreshments. My mom dropped us off at home and headed for home and we crashed on the couch and watched a movie because I was exhausted!

5 snacks I enjoy: Chocolate, Chocolate, Have I mentioned Chocolate?, Cookies, and Chocolate.

5 things I would do if I had a million dollars: Pay off our House and Car, Buy another Car, Buy a little bit bigger house (but not to big), Put Gabby in preschool (since she has been begging to go for over a year now but I can barely afford Kaylee's preschool), and put money in savings for a rainy day.

5 places I would run away to: I wouldn't want to necessarily run away...just vacation. I would love to go to Hawaii (Paul has been there twice without me), I would love to go to tour Europe: Italy, France, all over. I want to take the kids to Disneyland or Disney World (or both).

5 T.V. shows I like: America's Funniest Videos, Without a Trace, CSI, Numbers, and NCIS

5 things I hate doing: DISHES! Weeding, picking up only to come back 5 minutes later and it's just as bad or worse than it was, Laundry, and Dishes...

5 biggest joys of the moment: Paul, Kaylee, Gabby. I know that's only 3 and I have a million, but I don't want to start listing everything and feel like I've forgotten something, or get carried away and have this be to long.

Now it's my turn to tag some people. Wendy, and Janeene...you have been tagged!
