The best way to enjoy a parade is inside a nicely air conditioned expo center. The parades for the Pioneer Day parade are made by different wards around the Salt Lake Valley. The floats are put on display for a few days in the Sandy Expo Center for visitors to come see the floats up close, as well as several activities for kids. My mom, Wendy, and her boys went with us to the float preview event. We got to vote for our favorite float, the kids got to go to a fishing booth, visit a mermaid, ride on a turtle, and get their faces painted. This really is the best way to really see the parade without sitting outside in the hot summer sun. We love the float preview event and can't wait to go to the one next year!
