Catch of the day!

Today was a pretty nice day and AMAZINGLY Paul had today off work. Paul really wanted to go fishing. So, this morning he got online and found a place up Provo Canyon that looked good. We went and bought Gabby a fishing pole so that the girls wouldn't have to try to share today. Then it was off to find the spot up Provo Canyon. It turned out to be a really nice park next to the river. I made sure to bring a camping chair, blanket, and a book since fishing is really Paul's thing not mine. Kaylee wanted to fish before we even had our picnic lunch, which meant, she didn't eat much lunch.

Gabby didn't really get into the fishing. There were a bunch of sticks on the ground from trees and she thought it was much more fun picking up sticks and putting them either in a pile or in the river.
Here is where you really see Gabby's attitude. I told her No, so she went and sat on the ground by the tree.
Paul ended up helping the kids with their fishing poles more than he actually got to fish. I told him that next time he can sneak out and go fishing by himself if he wants.

Finally, after fishing for forever, Kaylee caught her very first fish ever!!! She was so thrilled! She was sad when we told her that she couldn't bring it home.

How fun. She looks so cute with that fishing pole. i'm impressed she had enough patience to stand there for that long. Good job. What a good time to spend with family. Even if all Gabby did was pick up sticks. It is family time. :)

That is a pretty good size fish too, at least next to Kaylee it looks good sized. That little boy behind paul in the last picture looks a little jealous of Kaylee's fish.

why didn't you keeep the fish? You could have taken it home and cooked it up for dinner!
Looks like everyone had a good time.

That looks so fun!! Good job fisher-woman Kaylee!! I'm glad to see that the 3 year old attitude doesn't just belong to Kennadee!! I don't know about Gabby but Kennadee has seemed to be worse at 3 than she was at 2!!
