Kangaroo Zoo...and Happy Birthday to You!

Are you ready for some shocking news? Gabby is going to be FOUR on Wednesday! How did she grow up so fast?

Today to celebrate her birthday we went to Kangaroo Zoo with Nicola, Noelle, Adam, Maren, Wendy, and Roman. It was fun, insane, crazy, and impossible to keep track of kids. The kids jumped, slid, fell, had fun, and were exhausted when we left. They had huge inflatable slides, playgrounds, and bounce houses.

After we left kangaroo zoo we went to the mall to have cupcakes, and let Gabby open her presents because the people at Kangaroo zoo wouldn't let us bring them in there. It was a fun, and absolutely crazy day. I love getting together with Wendy and Nic, and my kids absolutely love playing with their kids.

International Peace Gardens

This weekend my little sister Marla really wanted to go on a picnic. We decided to go on Saturday morning to the International Peace Gardens. It was a pretty nice day with just a little bit of wind. After lunch we wandered around the park. Even though there weren't any flowers out yet the park was beautiful, and we had fun. You can also get Wendy's version of the same events here on her blog.

Here are a few fun pictures I took from around the park:

Weekly Review March 15-21

This week was a fun, busy, adventurous week.

March 15 – We went up to Uintah for Don and Marilyn Pearson’s missionary homecoming. After going to their church we went to their house for a late lunch. The girls loved playing outside, watching trains go by, and playing with friends.

March 16 – Wendy is working at my cousin, Jared’s pediatric dentist office for a couple days…so I’m babysitting Roman. Life is always interesting when you add another child in the mix. Today Gabby and Roman had more than a little bit of fun playing in Bella’s crate.

March 17 – Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Kaylee was so excited to wear green from head to toe. It was a super nice day outside. The kids had fun playing with bubbles, and enjoying the nice weather. I couldn't decide which picture for this day. Any opinions are welcome.

March 18 – The bubbles were still out so the kids decided to play with them inside. Gabby was trying to catch them on her tongue, and Roman was trying to vacuum them with the toy vacuum.

March 19 – After babysitting for a couple days Gabby needed a nap…and aren’t naps always better in a laundry basket? She wasn’t really asleep, but after the kids got home from school we had a pretty laid back day, and cleaned the house.

March 20 – Wendy FINALLY got the keys to her new house in Draper. No one has been living there for 9 months so it was covered in dirt, and dust. After we picked Kaylee up from school we went to help Wendy clean her house to get ready to move in.

March 21 – Marla wanted to go on a picnic. Kaylee and Gabby always think a picnic is a wonderful idea. We went to the International Peace Gardens and had a picnic and walked around and enjoyed the park. After we left the peace gardens we headed up to Layton for a Forbes’ family get together but I forget to get my camera out to take any pictures.

Crazy Day! and even crazier kids!

For the next couple of days Wendy is working at her old office...so, I'm babysitting (a.k.a. running a zoo!) We started out dropping Kaylee off at school (Roman cried when Kaylee got out at the drop-off area and we just drove off without her), then we went to Old-Navy. I had the hardest time getting Gabby and Roman away from a bench with the little old navy dog on it.
After picking Kaylee up at school, having lunch, and an attempt at giving Roman a nap, we went outside to play...Kaylee tried riding her bike and ended up in a huff (and a time-out).
Then things got really interesting. Wendy got to my house after she was done working and I put Kaylee to work on her homework...and Gabby and Roman found an interesting way of keeping themselves entertained (or contained). According to Wendy's Blog I'm running an animal shelter...but to me it seems more like I'm in the funny farm. First things started out with just Roman, and it just kept attracting people (and dogs)...oh, wait, just one other person and one dog.
Since I'm a loner here with the girls, and Wendy's homeless (still waiting on her house in Draper) she has decided to stay with me for a few days while she works at her old office and I babysit Roman. After sharing a dog crate with 2 kids and a dog the kids figured that meant they could all sleep in the pack n' play together too. They thought there was plenty of room for the 3 of them. In the end they all ended up in seperate beds...but after I put them to bed, and before Kaylee went to sleep she wanted to make sure that I remember that tomorrow is St. Patrick's day, and she gets to wear ALL green...She wanted it to be a whole discussion, but it ended at "Go to sleep, or there will be no St. Patrick's day for you."

Weekly Review March 8-14

I noticed that my last post was also a weekly review...isn't it nice that I post at least once a week (even when I haven't done much?)

March 8 – My Grandma Oveson (My dad’s mom) came over to my parent’s house for Sunday dinner.

March 9 – Kaylee didn’t have school so we stayed at my parent’s house. Kaylee, Gabby, and Roman had their own personal theater in the cardboard house.

March 10 – Kaylee and Gabby playing in their “tent” made out of blankets hung from their bunk bed.

March 11 – We went shopping and looked at Easter dresses. Gabby really liked this one, and loved to twirl in it. The only problem was that it was too big for her.

March 12 – Wendy came down to highlight and cut my hair. We went to the mall after we picked up the girls from school and the drove this “ice cream truck”

March 13 – We went shopping at Costco and the girls wanted pizza for dinner, so we got one and had a pizza night.

March 14 – Marla came down to play for the weekend. Kaylee, Gabby, and Marla made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for us to take to a family thing on Sunday.

Weekly Review March 1-7

I was at my parent's house for the weekend and just got home. It's snowing like CRAZY outside and I'm glad I made it home before it got even more crazy. Anyway...here's my week (last week)

March 1 – Today we took the car seats out of Marla’s car so she could head home after spending a few days with us. They kids love to play with car seats whenever they are in the house.

March 2 – Wendy let me borrow her carpet cleaner a couple months ago and I finally got around to cleaning carpets. Today I cleaned the Family Room floor. The carpet looks so much better!!!

March 3 – Today Wendy and Roman came to help me clean carpets throughout the house. First we had to make sure everything was vacuumed really well.

March 4 – The kids did have a TV in their play room…until I stole it and put it in my room for now. Yesterday I put the portable DVD player in the play room to turn on a movie while Wendy and I cleaned carpets and now the kids think they have their own personal theater.

March 5 – Bella got a new bed and spent most of the day in her crate enjoying it. She didn’t want to come out for anything.

March 6 – After picking Kaylee up from school we headed to my parent’s house for the weekend. We went over to my friend Miriam’s house to play. She has 7-year-old twins and Kaylee thought that was great. Kaylee and Hailey were best friends by the time we left. Gabby had fun too playing with everyone.

March 7 – I went out for a Girl’s Night Out with Nicola, Wendy, and Marla. I had so much fun just talking and playing with no kids. We got pedicures, went to the mall, and then to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

Weekly Review Feb. 22-28

Here's my weekly review to finish out the month of February. My week started out slow but ended with all sorts of fun with my sisters and friends.

February 22 – I went downstairs this morning to let Bella (our dog) out of her crate (that she sleeps in) and found that she had been sick over night and it was super nasty. After cleaning up her mess I gave her a bath…she wasn’t too thrilled about it, and neither was I, but she needed it.

February 23 – Kaylee is getting pretty good at making her Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches by herself.

February 24 – Today was finally warm enough to go outside. It got up into the 60s today and our neighbor invited us over to play.

February 25 – While Kaylee was at school Gabby and I ran a few errands. One of those errands took us to the mall. Gabby thought that if she held onto this pole she wouldn’t have to walk anymore and I would pick her up. Instead, I took a picture and she still had to walk.

February 26 – Marla came to stay with us for a few days. We made scones for dinner and the girls like to cut out their scones with cookie cutters.

February 27 – We went to Boondock’s (an amusement play place) with Wendy, Roman, and Marla. We had fun in the kiddie cove play area, arcade games, and Bumper Boats.

February 28 – We went to Hogle Zoo with Marla, Wendy, Roman, and Nicola’s family. It was a pretty nice day and the zoo wasn’t very busy. On the zoo train we got charged by a buffalo (very scary).
