My princesses and a super hero

The other day I found a post on a blog about Tilt photography studios grand opening. If you brought your kids in costume they would take their picture, send you an email, and a 5x7 portrait. On Wednesday afternoon Wendy and I went to the studio with our princesses and Super man. After about an hour it was our turn. Kaylee was more than happy to pose...and pose...and pose. Gabby wasn't as thrilled about posing but did for a minute. Superman (Roman) was tired of sitting still and was ready to go crazy (or maybe just jump on some furniture). Here are a few pictures that the photographer got of our kids.

Disney Halloween

Tonight a whole group came to my house for Halloween and to go out trick-or-treating. Almost everyone was a Disney character (or could fit in with one).

First we have princesses: Cinderella (Kaylee), Sleeping Beauty (Gabby), and Snow White (Savannah)

Next we have Prince Charming (Steve), and Cinderella (Kaylee)

Then there is Chris (I'm not sure what he is...I guess with all our royalty I guess we needed some security)

Here we have: Snow White (Savannah), Tinkerbelle (Tiffany), and Sleeping "Cutie" (Gabby)

Then there is: Jessie from Toy Story (Marla), and Sleeping "Cutie" (Gabby)

Here is the whole group that went trick-or-treating in my neighborhood: Jaren (the indian...think Peter Pan to keep with the disney theme), Kaylee, Chris, Gabby, Marla, Steve, Savannah, and Tiffany

Halloween Program

Kaylee and Gabby had their Halloween program at school today. We started with Gabby's class (at 9:45 a.m.). They did a little parade around the parents and then up on to the steps. They sang 4 or 5 songs and then went back to class. It was a really cute 10-15 minute program. An hour later (at 10:45 a.m.) it was time for Kaylee's class, they also did the little parade around the parents, and up on to the steps to do a halloween dance and 7 or 8 songs. As soon as Kaylee's class got up on the steps Kaylee went into meltdown. She sat down on the step and refused to sing, and she was crying. I don't know what to do so she'll stand up and sing with her class. I know she knows all the songs because she's been singing them around the house all week. Does anyone have any ideas? I did convince her to get up and sing with her class for the last 2 songs, but she would only go up if my mom was holding her hand. Paul is really frustrated with her but I feel that it has to be her choice and we can't force her or it's only going to make it worse. Does anyone have any brilliant tips to help Kaylee with her stagefright (only in front of adults does she have stagefright). Okay...enough with my ramblings...here comes the pictures and videos. I was only able to get videos of Gabby because Kaylee wasn't singing.

Princess Party

Kaylee was invited to the cutest Princess birthday party today for one of her friends from school. There is a spa and tea room just around the corner from our house that the party was at. They had a HUGE pink princess party room with a cat walk, dress up clothes, hair/dress-up stations and more. I dropped Kaylee off and took Gabby home to eat lunch and Gabby kep insisting that she wanted to go back. Jessica's mom (Jennifer) had invited the parents to stay at the party or just drop off if they wanted. So, Gabby and I went back (armed with my camera this time) to see what they were doing. When we got back Gabby found a little table with a tea set right outside they party room that she was entertained with for quite a while. Then the amazing mom in charge invited Gabby to dress up with the girls at the party. She was so nice to include Gabby and let her dress up. Kaylee found a Cinderella type dress and immediately put that on, the "Fairy godmother" (person in charge of the party) did her hair up and curled it. Gabby found a Tinkerbelle costume and had me help her put it on. All the girls at the party LOVED the cat walk, especially since there was a big TV screen that they could see themselves on. After everyone was dressed up with their hair done the girls had a fashion show, followed by a tea-party with sandwiches, hot-chocolate, milk, and then a cupcake birthday cake. The whole thing was so adorable and tons of fun. Kaylee has decided that she wants her birthday party there and has been talking about it all day.

Photo Tag

I was tagged by my friend Miriam with a photo tag....so, here's the rules:

1. Go to your "My pictures" file
2. Click on the 4th folder
3. Go to the 4th picture and upload it
4. Tell about your picture
5. Then tag people (not required...but fun to see what other people come up with)

This picture is from the 2005 Christmas season (while we still lived up in Washington). We went to Target one day and Santa and the elves were walking around taking pictures with the shoppers. Kaylee (age 2, almost 3) is in the front middle of the picture, Gabby (age 8 months) is being held by Santa. Wow that doesn't seem like that long ago...but my girls are sooo little.

Now I am going to tag: Wendy, Nicola, Tiffany, Jess F., and anyone else who wants to try a fun tag.

Snowbird Ski Resort

Every year Snowbird Ski Resort has customer appreciation days during October where you can ride the tram up the mountain if you bring a can of food to donate. We went last year and there was TONS of snow and it was freezing cold. It snowed last weekend so we were geared up for there to be a lot of snow up there again this year. We were a little over prepared. We met up with everyone (there were 14 people in our group: My mom and dad, Wendy, Spencer, Roman, Paul, Me, Kaylee, Gabby, Brenda, Chris, Steve, Marla, and Tiffany) and headed for the tram ride up. When we got off the tram at the top of the mountain there were a few snow patches and lots of mud. We still had tons of fun. There were still snowball fights, and playing in the snow. Kaylee was sad that she didn't get to make a snow angel.
Here is the tram that we rode on to get back down the mountain.
My dad was checking out all the different views from the top of the mountain.

I think the picture looks like Paul is trying to hail the tram or something.

Since Steve couldn't build a snowman, he built a rock pile.

After we left snowbird we went to lunch with our whole group at "The Hungry Bear" located inside of "The Quilted Bear". It was really yummy. Kaylee found a HUGE bear dressed as a witch inside the Quilted Bear and had to have my mom take a picture of her with it.

Then Paul and I decided to go to a movie. Kaylee and Gabby were already riding in my mom and dad's car so we asked if they would take them home to their house and we could go to a movie. Marla was so nice to watch our girls and Paul and I went to see the new Nicholas Sparks book that got made into a movie: Nights in Rodanthe

Excellent movie in my opinion....but, the book is SOOO much better (but, books usually are so much better than the movie). We finished up our fun filled day at my parent's house for dinner and play time. Then we headed home at 8:00 when we should have been putting the kids to bed. If you want to read more about our fun day you can visit Wendy's Snowbird post

Pumpkin Patch

Today a HUGE group came down to my house to go on an adventure to the Big Red Barn Pumpkin Patch. After everyone met up at our house we headed for the Big Red Barn. We started off with the Hay Ride over to the pumpkin patch, then we all split up to find our perfect pumpkins.

Paul took Gabby off to the "little" pumpkin section to find a pumpkin and I set off with Kaylee to find her one. Then somehow I found the perfect pumpkin that Gabby had been searching for so Kaylee went off with Paul to find her perfect "BIG" pumpkin.
Here's a picture of us after Paul found us all pumpkins and we were ready to head back to the hay ride:
After the pumpkin patch we headed back to my house for pizza (thanks Wendy for dinner) and then to carve (and paint) pumpkins. I thought the garage was probably the best place for the pumpkin mess to be so we set up a table out in the garage and got to work with our creativity. Paul helped Kaylee carve her jack-o-lantern (she didn't want anything fancy, just a funny face like jack-o-lanterns are supposed to have). Gabby wanted to paint her pumpkin "like a pirate" so away she went with the paint and her pumpkin. Marla got REALLY crafty with her pumpkin and carved a spider web and spider.

Thank you to everyone that came down and went with us! We had tons of fun and we are looking forward to our next grand adventure.
