Weekly Review Feb. 8 - Feb. 14

I'm sorry that my weekly review is a little late this week. I went to my parent's house for our long president's day weekend. Then when I returned home last night I was greeted with an EXTREMELY freezing house. My furnace is broken!!!! Well, my Ignitor switch is broken...therefore my furnace isn't working...blah! I'm FREEZING!!!

Okay, enough of my whining...Here's my Weekly Review:

February 8 – Once again we didn’t go to church today because of sick kids. Kaylee is pretty much over the flu but still has a stuffed up nose, and now Gabby has super red eyes and a stuffed up nose. So, we stayed at home and found things to entertain us around the house. Gabby enjoyed playing her Leapster (a handheld kids video game system), and at dinner the kids had fun eating with their kids chopsticks.

February 9 – Kaylee finally made it back to school today after being sick all of last week. I took Gabby to the doctor because of her super red eyes (It’s either an eye infection or something viral, the doctor wasn’t sure). Then we got a package in the mail from Paul. He sent us Valentine’s Day gifts from Disneyland. He sent us a Mickey Mouse Valentine Beanie doll, and then each of us got disney character lockets. Kaylee got Cinderella, Gabby got Sleeping Beauty, and I got Mickey Mouse.

February 10 – The girls had their President’s Day Patriotic Program at school. Their classes got up and performed about five or six songs that they have been learning. Gabby went up and tried to remember all the words, it was really cute. Kaylee REFUSED to go up, but her music teacher did convince Kaylee to sit next to her at the front.

February 11 – While Kaylee was at school Gabby and I went to the University Mall to find a birthday present for Papa (My dad). The whole way through the mall Gabby was telling me that she was SOOO tired and wanted me to carry her. I made her walk and when we got to Deseret Book she found a chair. She told me she was tired and needed a nap. I had a hard time convincing her to leave that chair. That night the kids wanted to have a picnic. Since it is WAY to cold for an outside picnic we laid out a blanket in the Living Room and had a picnic.

February 12 – The girls had Parent/Teacher Conferences today. They both got good reports from their teachers. Then we headed up to my parent’s house for our 5 day weekend (No school Thursday or Friday for PTC, and No school Monday for President’s Day). When we got there I pulled into the garage to unload the car, and the kids decided to “Drive” the car. Since Kaylee was the oldest she told the other two that it would be safest for her to drive.

February 13 – Since Paul is gone to Hawaii already and wouldn’t be here for Valentine’s Day I decided that I wanted to take the kids out for Valentine’s Day. Wendy and I took Kaylee, Gabby and Roman to Build-a-Bear. Kaylee made a pink bear with flowers and dressed it in a fancy dress, Gabby made a pink monkey with hearts on it and dressed it in a monkey shirt and denim skirt, and Roman made a dog and dressed it in a Soccer Uniform.

February 14 – Happy Valentine’s Day. Paul sent me a HUGE flower arrangement, it was so big it was taller than Roman.

Patriotic Program

Since President's Day is on Monday the girls school did a patriotic program today. My mom, Wendy, and Roman even braved the snowy roads and came down for the kids programs. First up was Gabby's age group (There was about 3 or 4 classes all together for the program.) They sang 5 songs that they have learned in their music workshop.

My mom peeked into the windows and took some pictures of the kids in class. Kaylee's class was having story time getting ready for their program to start. Gabby was just finishing up in her Kitchen workshop (They made Peanut Butter, M&M chex mix today).

Kaylee REFUSED to go up and sing today. I am not surprised since this comes up everytime she has to get up in front of parents to sing. (Except she does fine with the primary program). Her music teacher did convince her to come and sit next to her for the program. After the program she looked like she was getting her mug shot taken or something.Roman was trying to Kiss Kaylee, as Kaylee gave him a funny look and leaned away.

My Weekly Review Feb. 1- Feb. 7

I have decided to start a new thing on my blog...since I'm taking pictures everyday this year I thought it would be fun to do a weekly review. I am going to try to do this every Sunday, but it may end up being a different day if my life goes crazy (like if I end up moving or something, which I'm hoping will happen very soon).

So, starting with this past week here is my first weekly review.

Sunday, February 1 – Gabby and Roman weren’t feeling well so we just hung out at Grandma’s house. The kids colored their giant coloring book pages.

Monday, February 2 – My mom, Wendy, and I took the kids to the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum. They had lots of fun playing in the kid’s size town, news desk, and exploring.

Tuesday, February 3 – It was Kaylee’s turn to be sick this week. We got a call from our realtor that someone wanted to come look at our house, so we went to Macey’s (the grocery store) and got ice cream cones.

Wednesday, February 4 – Kaylee had the flu so we stayed home all day. The girls played on the computer for a bit, but it was mostly a movies and lay on the couch day.

Thursday, February 5 – We took Kaylee to the doctor (still sick with the flu)…On our way home we stopped at Krispy Kreme for some yummy hot doughnuts. The girls watched the doughnut machine making them fresh.

Friday, February 6 – Wendy and Roman came down to our house to play today. Here are the kids sitting on the couch watching Fantasia 2000…they loved it. (I love how Roman is eyeing Gabby’s bowl of Cheetos.)

Saturday, February 7 – Kaylee and Gabby got their Valentine Day cards ready for their classes at school.(Paul flew out to Hawaii today)

Discovery Gateway Children's Museum

Kaylee didn't have school on Monday because their school had a teacher prep day. So, since I stayed at my parent's house for the weekend I stayed all the way until Monday. We went to lunch with Spencer, Wendy, Roman, and my Mom and then headed over to The Discovery Gateway Children's Museum to let the kids play. They had so much fun (it was a good thing that we had 3 adults there to keep up with the 3 kids). Wendy also posted more about our fun trip to the museum on her blog.

They started out in "The Garden" area where there is all sort of things to play with balls. There were places to drops balls through to make music, a ball suction tube, etc.

After convincing the kids that there were more fun things we went to the "Kid's eye View Village". There was a construction site, house, market, farm, and Water play area. Gabby and Roman went everywhere, and Kaylee mostly loved the water play area.

Next we made our way upstairs to "The Studio" where the kids got to explore science, engineering, wind tunnels, magnets, blocks, and more.

We also went to "The Terrace" where they got to explore a "life-flight" helicopter.

Then it was back inside to "The Media Center" where they got to be news anchors and meteorologists.

After all of this the kids were still ready to keep going...and I was ready for a nap. We had fun and spent over 3 hours at the museum.

My weekend..and haircuts

This weekend I needed a sanity-saver weekend. So, we went up to my parent's house to play (especially since Paul was playing at Disneyland this weekend, sorry, he didn't have a camera so there aren't any pictures.). On Friday I picked Kaylee up from school and we headed up to Salt Lake. I have really been wanting to go to Yamasaki (a Japanese Restaurant) for a couple of weeks now. So, I convinced my mom, sister, and brother to go with me.

After enjoying our lunch Wendy and I went to Sam's Club to get a few things. Kaylee went with my mom and brother to my parent's house and Wendy and I took Gabby and Roman with us. They were very cute in the cart at Sam's Club.

On Saturday morning we thought it would be fun to go sledding...well it would have been if we didn't have 2 kids (Gabby and Roman) with colds. Instead my girls got much needed haircuts. Kaylee got six inches cut off of her hair. Gabby just got all her little whispy ends cut off and her hair evened out. Some places Wendy cut 3 inches off and only less than 1/4 inch in other places.

On Sunday Gabby, Wendy, and Roman really weren't feeling well so we just lounged around my parent's house all day, and the kids colored their giant coloring book pages.

Bella - Before and After

Today we took Bella for a MUCH needed trip to the groomer. She was looking very shabby (not to mention her nails were sharp, and she really needed a bath). So, I thought you all might enjoy a before and after picture of my dog. She looks MUCH better now, but she really didn't feel like posing for the camera.

Here is Before:

and after a much needed trip to the groomer...here's what she looks like now:
