Mayan Adventures

Last night for dinner we went to the Mayan Adventures Restaurant for dinner. The kids have been asking to go there for months, and they finally earned the privilege to go. It's a restaurant that is set up like a rock cliff and waterfall with a big pool at the bottom for the cliff divers, and show. The tables are all set up like they are in a giant tree, and there are different levels to the tree house seating. We were seated in the second level of the tree that was called the canopy level so it was up near the top of the rock cliff. However we weren't sitting at a table that was easy to see everything when the cliff divers came out, so, every time there was something going on the kids left their dinner and went over to where they could see. After we were done eating we went down to the lower level observation area to watch the divers for a few more minutes before heading out.

50 Days: Day 19: Totally Random

Day 19: Whatever tickles your fancy (random)

I was going to have my kids draw me a picture to use for this post...but they kept getting distracted and never finished. So, I found this question thing that Kaylee had filled out from an American Girls activity book about what she wanted to do when she grows up. I decided to use that instead because some of her answers are great! So, since K has already filled it out I just have to get Gabby to tell me her answers.

Kaylee's answers for the "When you grow Up..." questions.

-Where will you live? Hawaii
-A job you hope to have: I want to work at Build-a-Bear while I work on becoming a Pop-Star singer
-House rule you'll make: Don't touch sharp knives.
-House rule you would break: I wouldn't break any rules
-Pets you will have: A dog
-Number of Children you'd like to have: Two

-Advice you would give her: Follow the Rules

50 Days: Day 18: Set or Share a Goal

Day 18: Set or share a goal (goals that they are working on)

Kaylee has been reading the entire series of the Rainbow Magic Fairies. There are close to 100 books in the whole series. She has been reading other books as well, but has really been trying to finish ALL of the Rainbow Magic Fairy books. Her goal is to be done with all of them by the end of March. She only has 22 left, so I'm sure she will finish it off with plenty of time to spare.

Gabby has been saving up all her money to buy a Build-a-Bear bed set for all her Build-a-Bears. She found a pink heart bed set that she loved and has been saving every penny. She is SOOO close to having enough to go and get the set. She is really, really excited.

50 Days: Day 17: What Makes Them Sad

Day 17: A photo that makes you sad (what makes them sad) They didn't want to find a picture to go with this post. They just wanted to tell me, and have me write something.

Kaylee says that when people are mean it makes her sad.

Gabby says it makes her said when people push her over on a hard ground, or when her fuzzy yellow blanket gets taken away.

Weekly Review 2011 - February 20-26

Sunday, February 20 - Gabby was still getting over being sick the few days before so we decided to stay home all day. We didn't go anywhere, or do much of anything. Gabby just discovered Busytown Mysteries on Netflix and I think we watched 8-10 episodes of that show (although it seems like a lot more). I could NOT get that song out of my head!!!

Monday, February 21 - Paul didn't have school or work for Pesident's day. I also let Kaylee and Gabby have a break from school for the holiday. At about 9:30ish I got a phone call from my little sister Marla asking if I would come get her from work. It wasn't busy at all at the day care she works at because of the holiday, so, she came over to my house for a bit. While she was here she played with the color spinner with Gabby to make some fun designs.

Tuesday, February 22 - We got back into school stuff again for the week. The kids found a box of craft items...pipe cleaners, beads, glue, google eyes, pom pom balls, etc. They had so much fun making bracelets, pom-pom animals, and other fun crafts.

Wednesday, February 23 - Kaylee, Gabby, and I went to the mall to use a coupon that they had received for a free accessory item from Build-a-Bear. While we were at the mall to accessorize their Build-a-Bears I decided to get me a new accessory. My old purse is falling apart. I really liked it, but it could only last so long. I bought a Miche Purse. My little sister Marla has one and I love it so I decided to get me one. They have a magnetic cover so it's easy to change to look of your purse without a whole new purse. The place I bought my purse at was having a buy-one-get-one-free sale on their closeout covers so I got one cover with my purse, and then got 2 more with the sale. I LOVE my new purse, and I really love that I can change the look of it easily.

Thursday, February 24 - Happy Birthday to my DADDY!!! I have the BEST dad in whole world. I laugh at any of you that tell me otherwise. Wendy, my mom, and I took the kids downtown to my dad's office to take him some birthday balloons and to go to lunch with him for his birthday. It was so much fun, and I hope he had a great birthday. Hudson really, really loved the balloons. He was really going at them.

Friday, February 25 - Tonight we took the girls to Fat Cats to go bowling. Kaylee absolutely LOVES to play Wii Sports Bowling, and was so excited to go bowling for real. Kaylee decided to try out several bowling techniques. She had some very funny techniques for getting the ball down the lane. She heaved it, she pushed it with her head down the ball ramp, but her favorite was to hold the ball ramp with her hands, and push the ball with her foot. She is quite the pretzel.

Saturday, February 26 - I made Kaylee and Gabby new chore charts today. The one we had on our fridge had seen better days. I filled in what chores they needed to do on what days they were responsible for them and printed them out. Then, I laminated the chore charts so they will last longer, and so the kids can mark them off with a dry erase marker when they finish a chore. They hung them on their bedroom door so they would be easy to see and remind them what needs to be done.

Bowling

Tonight we took the girls to Fat Cats to go bowling. Kaylee absolutely LOVES to play Wii Sports Bowling, and was so excited to go bowling for real. They thought it was funny to change their shoes, and Gabby asked me after a while if I could buy her some bowling shoes so she could go bowling in our backyard.

The girls were very independent bowlers, especially Gabby. They got the small size 6 ball, and the ball ramp and were doing a great job. Gabby didn't even want help carrying the ball over to the ball ramp.

There was really only one part of bowling that Kaylee and Gabby didn't like. They got so bored waiting for it to be their turn again. There were times that they were dancing, and cheering...but mostly they sat at the table waiting for their turn.

When it got to their turn again they were full of energy, and excitement, and ready to knock the pins down.
