Grandma's 90th Birthday

Last week my Grandma turned 90 years old. To celebrate there was a family party on Saturday at the assisted living home where she lives. It was fun seeing so many family members there, and it was so nice to sit down and visit with my grandma. My mom asked me to bring my camera and take a few pictures. Here's some pictures I took while we were at the party. My Grandma with 5 of her 7 children

While we were at the party Paul took the kids outside to play on the playground at the park. He took some cute pictures of them while they were playing.

As we drove through the canyons on our way to the party, and then again on the way home it was amazing to see home colorful the mountains were with all the trees changing colors. Paul took some pictures as we drove through. Check out the amazing colors:

Autumn in the Mountains

On Columbus Day Paul didn't have to work since it is a Federal Holiday. After we got a few things done around the house in the morning we decided to head up Little Cottonwood Canyon to check out the fall colors in the mountains. As we went up in canyon what we found was some color, and lots of snow. We drove up the canyon a ways and then decided to find somewhere to get out and enjoy the mountains. There were snowball fights, snow being thrown around just for fun, and leaf fights. We had so much fun hiking and playing in the canyon until we got so cold we made our way back to the car.

Ari's Birthday Party

My niece Ariana is turning 3 in a couple weeks. Since her birthday is typically cold my sister decided to have an early birthday party for her. She really wanted a bounce house birthday party. My kids were thrilled! After we went to a baptism in the morning for one of our friends we headed over to my sister's house for the birthday party. While the kids had fun bouncing and playing Paul and I went with 2 of my sister's to lunch at El Habenero an amazingly delicious Mexican restaurant in Magna. It was so nice going out to lunch with no kids. We went back over to the birthday party just in time to see Ari finishing up opening her presents and then blow out the candles on her cake.

My sister Wendy made Ari an adorable pink and purple sock monkey with a matching sock monkey hat for her. They were SO cute, and she loved them. Marla posed with EACH and EVERY present that Ari got and I had fun taking pictures...I figured I would just include the picture of Marla holding up the gift that Kaylee and Gabby gave to Ariana.

Picking Apples and Stitches

Our day started just like any other day. We got up and started our day with school work. We have been studying autumn and I thought it would be fun to go to an apple orchard to let the kids pick apples right off the trees. We met up with Wendy, and her boys at Farnsworth Farms. The kids had SOOOOO much fun picking apples. They found the biggest ones that they could, as well as the smallest. After we were done picking apples we went over to The Chocolate Cottage and got some delicious sweets to eat. Then we went to Wendy's house to play.

We were planning to go to Hollywood Connection because Wendy and I had some deal vouchers that we had purchased that expired that day. Since it didn't open for a few hours we decided to play at Wendy's house and let Hudson take a nap. Kaylee, Gabby, and Roman went out to the backyard to play and enjoy some sunshine. Wendy had a tent set up so the kids decided to play house and the tent was their house. The next thing we knew Kaylee was at the back door crying and dripping blood everywhere. She had snagged her toe on the tent stake and cut in between her toes all the way to the bone. I loaded her up into the car after cleaning it up a bit and headed on our very first trip over to InstaCare. The nurses looked at it and tried to figure out the best way to patch her up, then the doctor came and looked at it and they decided there was no way of getting around putting stitches in but it was REALLY tricky because of where the cut was. They numbed up her toes, stitched her up, and sent us on our way. When we were done Kaylee asked the nurse if she would still be able to go to Hollywood Connection. We didn't make it over there, but Wendy had called and talked to the manager and due to the circumstances they extended our vouchers an extra week. WOW!!! What a day.

Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey's Circus

Can I just say I LOVE Ringling Brother's circus. It is so fun to watch, to take the kids and share their excitement, and to see all the amazing things they can do.

We went to the circus for Paul's birthday this year. Since my parents went on a cruise and my little sister was home alone we invited her to come with us too. We had SUCH a good time. We went to the and looked at the animals, and then into the arena and watched the pre-show. We watched acrobats, clowns, an elephant painting and lots more.

After the pre-show we had so much fun watching the clowns, the acrobats juggling, the horses and zebras, and the strong-men, and tight-rope acrobats

After intermission was the tiger show, aerial ribbon acrobatics, the flaming human arrow, and the elephant show.
