Marla came with me to take my car to the drop off place in San Diego. I offered to buy her a plane ticket - a one way ticket, either back to Salt Lake, or out to Hawaii but then she would have to buy a ticket back home. She chose to come with me to Hawaii and spent a couple weeks. It was a fun visit and she was very helpful unpacking my house and helping get things organized.
The first day (Feb. 4) we took Marla out to the Dole Pineapple Plantation to see how pineapples are grown, etc. After Paul was off work we went to Waikiki Beach to play for a bit at sunset.

On the 5th we went to another beach...

The 6th was our Sea Life Park adventure...dolphins, sea lions, penguins, and more!

Without any furniture at our house the kids made the best of it. They watched movies on a tiny portable DVD player screen, while sitting on beach chairs.

After the movers delivered our household goods, and we unpacked for 2 days we were ready to hit the beach again on the 10th:

After a few more days of packing we headed back up to the North Shore to see the Hawaii Temple, and then to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was a fun, exhausting day (if you want to read more about the PCC you can see my post in November when we went there). We went to the Polynesian villages, the Ali'i Luau (where we bought a super yummy drink in a pineapple), at the end of the Luau Gabby went up on the stage with the Hula dancers to perform "Til We Meet Again" with them (they invited any kids that wanted to come up, Gabby was one of the few that was brave enough to go up), after dinner it was off to the Evening Show. It started at 7:30 which is my kids bedtime, and Gabby couldn't make it through the show. She zonked out across Paul and me.

The last day Marla was here we decided to hit the beach one more time. This time we found huge waves, and a sea turtle sunning on the beach, and more sea turtles surfing right by the beach.
