Little Picasos

My little sister Marla is TOTALLY remodeling her bedroom. Right now she is staying in the guest room so she could tear down wallpaper, repaint, put up a chair rail and new baseboards, and get new carpet. She is getting a WHOLE new room. I volunteered to help with the wall paper last Friday and the girls enjoyed helping too.

After the wallpaper was all down Marla had to patch up a whole bunch of nail holes on her wall. I volunteered again to help her paint yesterday (Thursday) because I was coming up to stay there so I could pick Paul up from the airport at 7:00 this morning. After I picked the girls up from school we headed up for some painting fun. We painted the top half of her room purple, and the bottom half green. Then there will be a chair rail to separate the colors. She still needs to paint her ceiling and closet. They are going to be a lighter purple than the wall is.

After we had been painting for a while (and we were almost done) a paint fight broke out. It seems like you just can't paint a room without paining each other!!! Gabby was really good at sneaking up behind people and painting their butt. Kaylee had a little roller and tried to keep Marla's big roller away from her by using her little roller on it.
Gabby thought it was fun until Marla got her on her arm...then she was mad and tried to wipe it off. That ended the paint fight.

Weekly Review - April 19 - 25

I just have two words for this past week: Crazy, and Exhausting!

Sunday, April 19 - It was such a beautiful day, and it looks like we are in for a nice week. The kids went outside to play in the playhouse and blow bubbles. (Thanks to Kaylee cleaning the playhouse on Saturday)

Monday, April 20 - After school we ended up playing outside for 4 hours!!! It was almost 80 degrees outside. Some of the neighbor kids came to play outside with us...in this picture is our neighbor Sydney. She is a month older than Gabby.

Tuesday, April 21 - Another beautiful day. While we were outside playing another of our neighbors was out delivering notes about a primary activity. When they got to our house her daughter really wanted to stay to play. She knows we have a play room and wanted to go upstairs to play. So I offered for her to stay while her mom took around the rest of the primary activity notes. When I went to check on them Kaylee had turned on "Horton Hears a Who"

Wednesday, April 22 - Kaylee had Cap and Gown Kindergarten graduation pictures at school. I got up early to do her hair and it turned out so cute I decided to take the kids to Kiddie Kandids at the mall to get pictures done.

Thursday, April 23 - Gabby had Cap and Gown preschool graduation pictures at school. After school we went up to Salt Lake. Our original plan was to scrapbook...but we ended up playing in the Olympic Legacy fountain at the Gateway Plaza.

Friday, April 24 - I offered to help Marla tear down her wallpaper in her bedroom so she could completely redo her room (new paint, decor, and carpet). After I helped her for a while I had to go make dinner...so instead Kaylee, and Gabby went to help.

Saturday, April 25 - What an insanely CRAZY day. Today included a library book sale, babysitting (Kaylee went to a walk-a-thon), my cousin's wedding luncheon, the Treehouse Museum, and my cousin's wedding reception.

Treehouse Museum and a CRAZY Saturday!

Yesterday was an insanely crazy day!!! My day started with going to the Salt Lake City Library Book sale with Gabby, Wendy and Marla. We got up at 6:15 and got ready so we could be there at 7:00 when the sale opened. After fighting through crowds of people we finally made it out of the book sale just before 9:00. We headed back to my mom's house so I could babysit Ariana at 9:30. Kaylee went to Janeene's house while we went to the book sale, and then went with Janeene to a walk-a-thon at Jaren's school while I babysat Ariana.

After our crazy morning I got a short break before heading up to Layton to go to a luncheon for my cousin Allison that just got married. Since we didn't want to go all the way back to my parent's house between the luncheon and the reception we decided to take the kids up to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. The kids had tons of fun. The kids were everywhere and didn't stay together much, so it was a good thing we had enough adults there to cover all the kids.

We went over to the reception and Kaylee and Gabby had fun helping Papa decorate Allison's car, and helping Grandma in the kitchen. Gabby really liked helping my aunt Nadine refill the juice, and water bowls. It was a beautiful reception, and Allison looked amazing. We ended up staying almost the entire reception and finally got back to my parent's just before 9:00 and got the kids to bed.

Gateway Plaza Olympic Fountain

Today after picking the girls up from school we headed up to Salt Lake to hang out with Wendy and Roman. Our original plan was to go to her house and scrapbook the day away (and get caught up on our project 365 albums)...but then Wendy had her adoption home study this morning and had to take Spencer to work after that was done. Spencer's office is downtown at the Gateway plaza so we ended up meeting Wendy there instead of at her house.

The kids had fun going downtown...partly because going to Spencer's office also means they get to go to Papa's office. My girls were so thrilled to go visit Papa (my dad). They also really like to play in a cupboard in his office. Today they were trying to fit all three of the kids in the coat cupboard.

After leaving Papa's office we had lunch and went over to the Olympic Plaza fountain for the kids to play in. They had tons of fun running and playing (and the funniest thing was that they were trying to stay dry even though they were in their swimsuits.)

Every 30 minutes they have a fountain show with the fountain set to music. No one is supposed to go in the fountain during the water show. The kids had fun sitting on their towels watching the show.

After we were done playing in the fountains we went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and got the kids ice cream cones.

Spring 2009 pictures

Today Kaylee had cap and gown kindergarten graduation pictures at school. I got up this morning and did her hair up in curls. It took me over an hour to get her ready this morning because her hair has gotten so thick. I loved the way that Kaylee's hair turned out.

After I took Kaylee to school I came home and decided to do Gabby's hair just like Kaylee's. (She has graduation pictures tomorrow so I'll have to do it up nice again tomorrow too.)
When I got back to Kaylee's school to pick her up the photographer was running way behind schedule. Kaylee's class was still waiting for their turn so I helped get all the kids in their caps and gowns.
I have been wanting to get their pictures done together for a long time now...the last time I got their pictures done was last April. So, after we picked Kaylee up from school we went over to the mall and got their pictures taken, and I think they turned out so amazingly cute. I'm glad that I just went and did it and didn't stress myself out about scheduling, and planning hair-dos, and outfits.

Here's the amazingly cute pictures that I got done today at Kiddie Kandids.
